Prisoners is a 2013 American thriller film directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Aaron Guzikowski. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano.
The plot follows Keller Dover (Jackman), a father who takes matters into his own hands when his daughter and her friend go missing. He becomes desperate to find them and is willing to use any means necessary to do so, even if it means taking the law into his own hands. Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal) is assigned to the case and as he investigates, he begins to uncover shocking secrets about the community.
